2. When does Wolford use and process personal data?
The privacy and protection of your personal data is very important to both you and Wolford. As a result, we ensure that we adhere strictly to the requirements of the applicable data protection laws when collecting, processing and using your data. The personal data that we do collect about you enables us to provide you with our services and improve them where we can. It is possible to visit the Wolford Online-Boutique without providing any personal data. However, in some circumstances we will need to obtain personal data from you and we normally collect your personal data in the following circumstances:
- when you place an order with us
- when you contact us
- when you register to use and use our password protected/members area
- when you subscribe to or cancel your subscription to our newsletter.

We specifically use personal data for processing and communicating with you regarding orders, delivering goods, assessing creditworthiness, processing payment, to prevent improper use of our website and in order to provide you with marketing communications by post, email and/or phone about our products, services and events that you request from us, consent to receiving from us or which we feel may interest you. 3. What does Wolford do with your personal data?
We store the personal data for the purposes of processing and fulfilling your order and will if applicable forward your data to other companies for this purpose including for packaging and shipping the ordered articles, for processing returns and for accounting. The data forwarded in this respect may only be used by the commissioned companies for performing their task. Any other use of the information is not permitted.
We may disclose your personal information to certain credit referening agencies for the purposes of assessing your credit worthiness and solvency as a customer.

We do not store your credit card data for your security.
For the initiation and execution of collection proceedings we hand over the customer's address data and all order, delivery and invoice data associated with the outstanding invoice to the authorized debt collection company Deutscher Inkasso-Dienst GmbH & Co KG, Steindamm 71, 20099 Hamburg (or such other debt collection company(ies) as Wolford may engage from time to time).
4. How does Wolford protect your personal data?
When you register with the Wolford Online-Boutique and log-in with your password or place an order, your personal data will be transmitted to us. To protect this information, any information sent to us is encrypted using SSL technology (Secure-Socket-Layer). SSL technology is industry standard encryption technology that protects your data from being intercepted and/or misused by third parties whilst it is being sent over the internet.
Wolford maintains various other security measures for protecting the personal data of its customers. In connection with these security measures you will occasionally be requested to provide proof of your identity before we display your personal information for you. One example of this procedure is access to your customer account is only possible by entering a password.
You are responsible for keeping any passwords, login details and user details confidential at all times.
5. When does Wolford delete your data?
Applicable data protection legislation imposes various storage duties and requirements on Wolford as well as certain requirements on how long personal data can be retained by Wolford. All personal data is therefore stored and retained by Wolford in accordance with the requirements of applicable data protection legislation or when the purposes for which such data is used as set out in clause 2 and 3 cease to apply.
6. Does Wolford use cookies?
A cookie is a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser. The text file is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.
We may send a cookie which may be stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. We may collect via cookies generic information about your visits to and use of the website such as your IP addresses, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views. 7. Why does a credit assessment help you?
Wolford may undertake a credit assessment on new customers that make a purchase from the Wolford Online-Boutique. Credit assessments are carried out in order to limit difficulties during the payment process.
By conducting a credit assessment, we are protecting ourselves against incurring avoidable financial losses. This helps us maintain our sale prices, which indirectly benefits you.
